Inter midfielder Hakan Calhanoglu has sent a teasing message to his former club Milan ahead of Sunday’s Derby della Madonnina in Serie A, suggesting that today’s game is a case of two stars against one.
Calhanoglu posted a video to his Instagram story making his loyalties to the Nerazzurri clear. He sneakily used the club’s ‘IM’ branding to send a couple of messages such as “IM Calhanoglu, IM Inter’.
His clip also ended with a graphic, which read as ‘two stars against one’.
Calhanoglu was a key player in the Inter squad that won the club’s 20th Serie A title in 2023-24. He had also spent four full seasons with Milan, but left to join the club’s city rivals the summer before they won the Scudetto under Stefano Pioli in 2021-22.
As of the 2024-25 campaign, Inter display two stars above the crest on their shirts after winning their 20th league title last time out. Milan, with 19 Serie A titles in their history, have just the one.
