Italy international Riccardo Calafiori will not be involved in Arsenal’s FA Cup third round match against Manchester United on Sunday afternoon, as he has been ruled out with a muscular injury again.

Calafiori has not been included in Mikel Arteta’s 20-man matchday squad for the cup clash against United.

This is the fourth separate injury issue that the 22-year-old has reported this season.

He was also ruled out of Italy’s match against Israel and the North London derby against Tottenham back in September. A knee injury forced him to miss a run of games from late October until mid-November for both Italy and Arsenal.

Though he went on to play against Nottingham Forest and West Ham in November, the knee issue flared up again and forced him to miss another five matches across the Premier League, Champions League and EFL Cup.

Calafiori has only been available for 17 of Arsenal’s 31 competitive matches across all competitions since his €50m move from Bologna in the summer.
