Cagliari have imposed a deadline for the completion of a deal to bring Inter midfielder Radja Nainggolan to the Sardinian club on a permanent basis.

This according to today’s print edition of Cagliari-based newspaper L’Unione Sarda, who claim that the Rossoblu will not tolerate delays in negotiations after that point.

The clubs have been working on a deal that would bring the Belgian to the Sardegna Arena on a permanent basis after he spent the second half of last season on loan with the club.

However, after some optimism that a deal was close to completion, setbacks are thought to have been encountered to a move being finalized, with Inter unwilling to pay the 33-year-old the €700,000 severance which he is asking.

Should Inter not budge on the player’s demands, Cagliari only intend to wait until July 12, the date at which the squad convenes for pre-season training under manager Leonardo Semplici, to continue waiting on an agreement.

If Inter cannot find an agreement in time then the Belgian will remain an Inter player next season unless another club can be found, something not wanted by the Nerazzurri who do not wish to pay the wages left on the final year of the midfielder’s contract.
