Cagliari close to securing deal for Ajax midfielder Razvan Marin

Just one year after his €12.5m move from Standard Liège, it appears that Ajax are ready to give up on midfielder Razvan Marin.

According to Gianluca Di Marzio, Cagliari are heavily interested in the 24-year-old and could secure the Romania international on loan in the next two-to-three days.

The deal would include an option-to-buy, though the agreed-upon fee is currently undisclosed.

Though Marin was a high-profile signing last season, he never became a permanent part of Erik ten Hag’s starting XI, appearing in exactly zero minutes of last season’s Champions League group-stage campaign.

Marin made 17 appearances in all competitions, featuring for just 808 minutes as he was limited to just 99 minutes in 2020, all coming in KNVB Cup play,
