The contract of 34-year-old right-back Lukasz Piszczek runs out at the end of the 2019-2020 season. The Pole intends to tack on another year at Borussia Dortmund.

Lukasz Piszczek joined the Black and Yellows from Hertha Berlin in 2010 and developed into one of the best right-backs in the world under Jürgen Klopp, winning two domestic championships including one double in 2012 and reached the UEFA Champions League final in 2013.

The Pole has called it quits with the Polish national team this season, as he enters the sunset of his career. But will the Dortmund icon remain at the Westfalenstadion for another season?

“Currently, that’s hard to tell,” Piszczek told Schwatzgelb.de, adding: “We are in talks. I will know more at the end of January or the beginning of February. I would like to stay for another year but if the club has different views then I will have to accept that.”
