BVB once again honoured twice at GSBS Awards | OneFootball

Bundesliga club Borussia Dortmund have once again been honoured in the special categories "Best Total Performance" and "Environmental Performance" in the annual GSBS Sustainability Performance Ratings.

For several years now, the independent London-based non-profit organisation GSBS (Global Sustainability Benchmark in Sports),  has been investigating how sustainably clubs and associations in professional sport operate. Based on a scientific approach to data evaluation, the team of international members analyses the sustainability performance of numerous well-known sports organisations every year.

As was the case two years ago, Borussia Dortmund have once again achieved two top results for their sustainability management in the 2023 assessment period. BVB took joint first place (with Formula E) in the "Best Total Performance" special category with 81 percentage points and sole first place in the "Environmental Performance" category with 77 percentage points.

Data from a total of 16 associations and leagues as well as 39 clubs, franchises and teams were included for the 2023 assessment. The GSBS Reporting Framework covers up to 1,700 different data points and asks about topics such as financial sustainability, emissions caused, training opportunities, organisational structures, energy consumption and supply chain management.
