Liverpool will look to use July as a month where they offer several of their key players new contracts ahead of the new season.
July 12th sees the first day of pre-season come around for the Reds but not every Liverpool player will be there with several currently off around the globe playing in international matches.
The plan, though, for when they are all back at the AXA Training Centre will be to sort new contracts with Brazilian pair Fabinho and Alisson right at the top of the pile.
This update comes in from Paul Gorst for the Liverpool Echo:
“All to be sorted when they return to pre-season next month. Alisson and Fabinho front of the queue. It’s a big indication that Klopp wants to keep this squad together for as long as possible.”
ANFIELD WATCH VERDICT
It’s good to see that the Reds are planning on being proactive this summer and it does also suggest that Jurgen Klopp is really happy with the core of his squad and feels more can be achieved with it.
Indeed, we just need to add a couple of new faces this summer to freshen things up and then we can go again next season.
