Bury FC have offered free tickets for its opening league game of the 2025/26 season to Morecambe fans.
The Shrimps have had a difficult summer that sees the existence of the club in major doubt. Morecambe have been suspended by the National League until the middle of the month while they wait for a potential ownership change.
Many fans can relate to the situation in Morecambe and Bury FC, who have gone through similar struggles in recent yars, have sent a message of solidarity:
"We at Bury Football Club have watched with great sympathy and understanding as you navigate uncertain times.
"As a club that knows all too well what it feels like to face challenges off the pitch, we want you to know: you are not alone.
"As a gesture of solidarity and footballing friendship, we invite all Morecambe supporters to join us at Gigg Lane on Saturday, 9th August, for our home match.
"Whether you’re in need of a temporary football fix, a place to feel connected, or simply want to enjoy a matchday with fellow fans who understand—our gates and hearts are open to you."
Morecambe were set to face a trip to Boston United in the National League on Saturday but fans can instead watch Bury's opening Northern Division One West game against Newcastle Town on the same day for free.
