Burnley team news

Manager Scott Parker has declared he has a “pretty full squad” to select from for the season opener at Tottenham. His options have been boosted by the timely recoveries of Zian Flemming, Bashir Humphreys, Jordan Beyer, Connor Roberts, and new goalkeeper Martin Dúbravka, who have all shaken off pre-season fitness concerns.

Dúbravka, a new arrival from Newcastle, is in line to make his competitive debut in goal. He could be joined by fellow newcomers Lesley Ugochukwu and Armando Broja, who have arrived from Chelsea to bolster the midfield and attack, respectively. However, Parker has indicated he may take a cautious approach with Broja due to his long-term injury history, potentially introducing him from the bench.

The team’s main long-term absentees are Zeki Amdouni (knee) and Benson Manuel (Achilles), who both remain sidelined. Following a pre-season defeat to Lazio, Parker has emphasised the need for his established core, led by defenders Maxime Esteve and Jordan Beyer and midfielder Josh Cullen, to help the new additions integrate quickly.
