Arsenal will travel to Turf Moor this weekend to face Burnley in Gameweek 5 of the Premier League 2021-22 season.

We take the help of some stats to predict the match.

Arsenal have had one of the worst starts they could have imagined to the campaign. They registered their first win last week against Norwich City at home after three consecutive defeats in the first three matches.

Arsenal have scored just one goal in four matches the lowest in the league and have conceded nine goals in return. They have an xG of 5.97 and have heavily underperformed the metric. Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang has been the only goalscorer till now and the team has really struggled in front of goal. Goalkeeper Bernd Leno was replaced by Aaron Ramsdale last weekend after the former conceded nine goals in three matches. Ramsdale kept a clean sheet against the Canaries and is most likely to start again in goal.

Home side Burnley have an even worse start than the Gunners. Sean Dyche’s men are yet to win a match this season and currently see themselves sitting in the relegation zone in 18th position.

However, Burnley have scored three goals and conceded eight. They have scored in all of their matches except against Liverpool, slightly underperforming their xG of 5.82. Chris Wood has been their most effective player till now with a goal and an assist. Both centre backs Ben Mee and James Tarkowski have seen their names on the score sheet, which clearly shows the threat Burnley possess from set-pieces.

Arsenal have taken a total of 56 shots in four matches but have just managed to keep 13 of them on target, which is on the lower side of average in the league. It clearly shows the struggle the Gunners have faced in front of goal and they would like to fix this if they want to have a good season. They have struggled in defence and will have to mitigate this by scoring more goals.

Burnley on the other hand have had fewer shots (42) but kept more shots on target(15), average in the league. They have to be more clinical in attack and bury the chances they create if they want to win the match.

With Ben White, Thomas Partey and Gabriel back in the team, Mikel Arteta will have almost a full squad at his disposal to choose from. However, Granit Xhaka will miss the clash against the Clarets due to suspension while Rob Holding and Mohamed Elneny would stay sidelined due to injury.

Sean Dyche has a full squad available before they host Arsenal at home with only right-back Connor Roberts out due to a groin injury.

Arsenal are yet to pick up a point away from home this season while Burnley are still looking for a home victory. A trip to Turf Moor is always a tricky fixture but Arteta would love to win another match on the trot to bring back stability in the team. Arsenal are unbeaten in nine consecutive away games against Burnley and would like to keep that record intact.

The Clarets can however trouble the visitors from their strong set-piece deliveries and aerial threat if Arsenal keep on struggling in front of goal.

We predict a 1-1 draw or a narrow margin victory for Arsenal. Bukayo Saka and Martin Odegaard should be the players to look out for.
