Burnley target Darko Churlinov is set to join Vincent Kompany’s former club Anderlecht soon, according to journalist Ekrem Konur.
Reports in Germany revealed in late July that the Stuttgart winger was on the Championship club’s radar as Vincent Kompany looked to strengthen his squad further before the summer window closes.
However, Konur has now reported that Churlinov’s move to the Belgian club is closing in on a move to the Belgian outfit soon – meaning the Clarets are set to miss out.
Yesterday, Sky Deutschland claimed that personal terms had been agreed between Anderlecht and the 22-year-old with Stuttgart open to cashing in but keen to receive a fee in the region of €4 million (£3.73m) to €5 million (£4.22m).
It is understood that Burnley are only willing to spend up to €3 million (£2.53m) on the Macedonian despite Kompany’s interest in the player.
He may already have a replacement lined up as The Telegraph’s Mike McGrath has reported that Southampton winger Nathan Tella is set to move to Turf Moor.

The Verdict
Missing out on an attacking target is not ideal give both Dwight McNeil and Maxwel Cornet have departed following the club’s relegation from the Premier League.
However, it appears the Clarets were not prepared to meet Stuttgart’s valuation of Churlinov so it is perhaps inevitable that he is now set to move elsewhere.
That Anderlecht are the side close to snapping him up suggests he may well have been a target since Kompany’s tenure.
The good news for Burnley is that they’re reportedly closing in on a deal for Tella as they look to bolster their wide options.
