Burnley have learnt more about Djed Spence’s current situation after the latest update on the Spurs man has emerged.
The Clarets were first linked with a potential loan deal for the former Nottingham Forest wing-back early this week, with a host of Premier League clubs also reportedly keen.
It appeared Burnley’s hopes of a deal were over, though, with Football Insider suggesting that Brentford were in advanced talks over a loan-to-buy deal for the Spurs summer signing.
Now, though, the Clarets have potentially been handed a glimmer of their hope in their pursuit of the 22-year-old.
That comes after the latest update from Alan Nixon via Patreon, which states that Spurs will allow Spence to depart on loan this summer, but that he is “yet to find the ideal home”.
Whilst this does not necessarily give Burnley a boost, it at least demonstrates that Spence’s future is yet to be decided.
It’s unsurprising that he is in such demand after performing so well for Nottingham Forest lost season.

On loan from Middlesbrough, spence starred at the City Ground, appearing 46 times for the club in all competitions as they won promotion to the Premier League.
Since a big money move to Spurs in the summer, game time has been harder to come by, though.
Under Conte, Spence has appeared just six times this campaign.
Burnley are still likely to be very much outsiders to sign up Djed Spence this month.
However, with this update, they have at least learnt that the youngster’s situation is not yet resolved.
With that information, the club could opt to make one last push for his signature.
Ultimately, wherever Spence ends up, game time has to be the priority, which is perhaps the only reason the Championship Clarets would get a look in at all when up against strong Premier League competition.
