According to Sky Sports, plenty of teams remain in the race for the winger, and the same outlet have reported that Burnley are now in the mix to sign the Crystal Palace starlet.

Rak-Sakyi enjoyed a very good 2022/23 campaign with Charlton Athletic, doing enough to put himself in the shop window ahead of a potential loan move to the Championship last summer.

However, the Eagles decided to keep the player and could have benefitted from his presence, but he struggled to win much game time and he sustained a hamstring injury that kept him out for a decent chunk of the campaign.

With the player not having the opportunity to impress Oliver Glasner in a match situation, a loan exit from Selhurst Park could be on the horizon for the young player, who will be keen to make up for lost time and enjoy an excellent 2024/25 season.

He is likely to want to win plenty of game time - and there are no shortage of sides who are interested in him - potentially giving him more of a chance of picking a suitable destination for himself.

Rak-Sakyi is now thought to be attracting interest from the Clarets, who may be on the prowl for more attacking firepower before the window closes.

The Saints are still in talks to recruit the player, and are keen to secure a permanent agreement for him now or next summer, but Palace would prefer to loan him out.

However, the possibility of a club making a satisfactory permanent offer can't be ruled out, with overseas clubs including Anderlecht and Lyon both being linked with a move for him.

Those who want to take him on loan may have a good chance of recruiting the winger, but there's plenty of competition for his signature at this stage.

Burnley may need to offload wide players before they bring anyone else in

The Clarets already have a considerable number of players who can play on the wing at this point.

Manuel Benson, Nathan Redmond, Luca Koleosho, Mike Tresor, Wilson Odobert, Darko Churlinov, Dara Costelloe and Anass Zaroury are available as wing options.

Some of these players may have gone out on loan and it wouldn't be a surprise to see a couple of them depart again this summer, including Churlinov and Costelloe.

However, Zaroury could be a decent first-team asset, along with Benson, who didn't play much for the Clarets last season either.

Offloading some of their wide options surely has to be a priority before they bring anyone else in, with the Lancashire side probably needing to offload players to lower their wage bill.

They may not have spent a huge amount this summer, but wages can be responsible for big losses and the Clarets need to watch their financial fair play situation.
