Burnley goalkeeper Nick Pope says they were well worth the point for Sunday's 0-0 draw at Arsenal.

Pope had plenty of praise for every player in the hard-fought draw and well deserved clean sheet.

“A thoroughly deserved point on the day, we really stuck at it, and we're really pleased to come away with what we deserved.

“Everyone played their part, that's what you need, especially at big grounds like these.

“You're mentally prepared, as you know and understand you won't have loads of the ball throughout the game.

It's about staying concentrated and staying focused throughout and when you do get a hold of the ball, then making good decisions.

“You need to have a good unit in front of you and if one of them doesn't quite work, then the whole thing can sort of break down.

“But I thought the two lads (Pieters and Roberts) that came in at full-back were terrific today."

Pope made numerous of impressive saves throughout the game, but a fantastic save in the second-half from Emile Smith-Rowe's low strike was the pick of the bunch.

And the Burnley number one admitted he was pleased to pull that one off and keep the side in the game, but praised the wall in front.

“I was pleased with that save, I couldn't see too much of it, but it was even more of a relief to see it fizzle away from danger too.

“But, I thought the lads in front of me today were just excellent, blocks, headers, interceptions, last-ditch tackles, so it was like my way of repaying them for the hard work they did.

“We won here last season, got a point against Chelsea before Christmas, so it's not something we're alien to coming to places like this and getting a result.

“Belief played it's part, knowing you've done it before and you also create your own luck, but were happy with the point and clean sheet, now onto Watford in a couple of weeks."
