The Blades announced the news this afternoon via a post on their official club website.
May joins Sheffield United after working with manager Jonathan Morgan at former club Burnley. The forward netted one goal in 10 appearances for The Clarettes in the FA Women’s National League Northern Premier Division last season. The teenager also worked under Morgan during his time as manager at Leicester City.
May is a player with lots of potential and she will be hoping to develop further with new club Sheffield United.
After completing her move to Bramall Lane, May said “I’m really excited. The girls are lovely, it’s an ambitious club which is exciting and I hope we can push forward and have a good season.
“We’ve done a lot of team bonding, all the girls really get on, it’s a nice environment. The training has been class, really good level and I’m really enjoying it.”
May is the second forward player to join Sheffield United in the last 24 hours. The club also signed young Nigerian attacker Juliet Adebowale-Arimoro yesterday.
Sheffield United kick-off the new season at Charlton Athletic on Sunday afternoon.
