Burnley’s automatic promotion hopes took a slight dent after they failed to beat Preston North End last weekend at Deepdale, but the 0-0 draw means the Clarets are now on an incredible 11-game streak without conceding a goal.

In a crunch clash with a promotion rival, the Lancashire outfit will be aiming to put the pressure on both Leeds United and Sheffield United in the top two, with the gap to the Whites potentially being stretched to seven points should Daniel Farke's side secure victory this evening against Sunderland.

Nevertheless, Burnley are set to receive a much-needed boost in depth heading into a hectic Championship schedule, with Koleosho providing more competition for places on the flanks upon his return.

According to The Star, Luca Koleosho is set to make an eagerly anticipated comeback to the Burnley squad as they are set to welcome the Owls to Turf Moor on Saturday afternoon.

The report states that the 20-year-old, who has featured 25 times this season for Scott Parker’s side, has missed the last four Championship matches with a knock, along with club captain Josh Brownhill.

Netting just twice this term, Parker confirmed that Koleosho, along with Brownhill, were back in training ahead of last weekend’s meeting at Deepdale, but the Italian failed to make the squad yet again, whereas club captain Brownhill was fit enough for a place on the bench.

The Star are claiming that with Burnley not in midweek action, the winger will be able to get a full week of training under his belt and should be available to feature for the Clarets when they take on Danny Rohl’s outfit.

The article also reveals some early team news for Wednesday as they plan to lock horns with Burnley, with Anthony Musaba expected to be welcomed back into the squad, while influential and experienced second tier midfielder Barry Bannan is awaiting to be given the green light for his return, as he continues to be assessed after the defeat to Coventry City.

Seeing Luca Koleosho work his way back to full fitness along with Josh Brownhill will be a welcome sight for Burnley fans, who need all the depth they can have right now as the relentless nature of the Championship maintains its pace.

With vital points on offer between now and May, any player can make a difference in games, and having someone like Koleosho provides a creative spark from out wide and the ability to create a goal or opportunity out of the blue.

If there has been one criticism of Burnley at times, it is that they haven’t scored enough goals, and Koleosho can help make an impact and provide Scott Parker with a different option in attack to turn stalemates into victories.
