Jaidon Anthony has joined the Clarets on loan, and will play under his former manager, Scott Parker, once again.

Jaidon Anthony's loan move to Burnley from Premier League club AFC Bournemouth was confirmed on Thursday, with the winger playing under his former manager, Scott Parker, once again.

The 24-year-old spent last season with Leeds United, scoring twice in all competitions, as the Whites narrowly missed out on promotion through the play-offs.

His game-time at Elland Road was limited thanks to the quality possessed by Crysencio Summerville, but, with Anthony now under the guidance of Parker once again, he will be hoping to re-capture the same form that helped Bournemouth win promotion to the top flight in 2021/22.

The winger made 30 appearances in his last full season at the Vitality Stadium, but started in just 11 of those games, as the Cherries finished 15th.

However, he will now be hoping to get back to the form that impressed Parker so greatly two years ago, this time for Burnley.

Jaidon Anthony found his best form under Scott Parker's management at Bournemouth

Anthony moved to Bournemouth in 2016 after leaving Arsenal's academy, and made his debut for the first-team in December 2020. Within the year, the winger was a breakout star for the Cherries, and when Parker was appointed in the summer of 2021 to replace Jonathan Woodgate, the forward went on to flourish.

In the first three games of the 2021/22 campaign, Anthony picked up two assists and a goal, the first of his senior career.

Parker's Bournemouth were electric throughout the opening few months, and were unbeaten up until a 2-1 defeat to Preston North End in November - the 16th league match of the season.

Nevertheless, this did not stop Anthony from continuing his own form, scoring four goals in the next three matches, as the Cherries slipped back to second place.

The wing-based style of Parker's side seemed to play into the then 22-year-old's hands, and he was a constant threat on the left-hand side of Bournemouth's attacks, as they were eventually promoted back to the top flight two years after relegation, with Anthony contributing to 15 goals that season in the league.

Burnley fans must have patience in Jaidon Anthony after a lack of minutes for Leeds

There will be fears that Anthony will struggle to fill the hole that could be left if Luca Koleosho leaves Burnley (although that now looks unlikely), but, with time, there is every chance that he can get back to his very best.

The former Arsenal youngster has proven in the past that, when given the opportunity, he is extremely prolific in the Championship, and possesses the ability to win games by himself.

His time at Leeds was a difficult one. He struggled to usurp Crysencio Summerville and Dan James from their places in the starting XI, and instead had to prove his talent to Daniel Farke through cameo appearances.

This played against him, and could worry Burnley supporters, but playing under Parker once again can only be a positive.

The Clarets are in need of a different option for their wings, especially after their 1-0 loss to Sunderland in the league last weekend, and Anthony can provide that if he gets back to his very best.

His pace and shooting ability is second to none on his day, and he will provide Burnley with goals, but fans must have patience if it does take him a few weeks to start firing.

Anthony may not even be an immediate starter at Turf Moor, with Jeremy Sarmiento set to arrive in Lancashire as well from Brighton, as well as Koleosho likely to be remaining too, but his Championship experience cannot be questioned - Parker will look to get the best out of him once more given time.
