Burnley confirm signing of James Trafford from Manchester City | OneFootball

Burnley have officially completed the signing of James Trafford from Manchester City.

According to Fabrizio Romano, The Citizens will hold a buyback clause of around triple the amount the The Claret’s will pay for the 20-year-old, which is understood to be an initial fee of £14m, plus a potential £5m.

The 6’6″ Goalkeeper comes off the back of an impressive season for both club and country, as he kept 22 clean sheets in 45 appearances on loan from City at League one side Bolton, before playing a pivotal role in England’s victory in the Under-21 European Championship this summer; not conceding the entire tournament and making a 99th minute penalty save in the final against Spain to secure his nation a 1-0 win and their first Euro U21 title since 1984.

The arrival of the shotstopper will be the second at Turf Moor this week, with the signing of exciting talent Zeki Amdouni from Basel for £16m on a five-year-deal having been confirmed on Wednesday.

Having scored five in his first five caps for Switzerland’s senior side, the 22-year-old makes the move to England following somewhat of a breakout first season Basel. The multi-faceted striker contributed to 16 goals in the Swiss Super League and finished as top scorer in the Europa Conference League with seven goals, as his side narrowly missed out on the final with a 4-3 aggregate loss to Fiorentina.

Both signings are two of many for Vincent Kompany’s side already this summer. Swansea’s Michael Obafemi and Jordan Beyer have signed permanently following their loan moves at the side last season, West Brom centre-back Dara O’Shea has arrived for £6.7m, whilst former Southampton winger Nathan Redmond is also expected to join on a free transfer from Besiktas.

The Belgian manager will hope these summer moves will help his side ensure their status as a Premier League club for years to come and continue the excellent performances that saw them claim the EFL Championship title last season.
