Flemming is set to leave Milwall in a last gasp transfer of the window as Scott Parker is set tosecure the final signing of a busy summer

Burnley have beat the transfer deadline to sign Millwall star Zian Flemming in a loan to buy deal, with the Clarets set to pay more than £7 million in 2025 for the attacking midfielder.

As reported by Pete O'Rourke around the time of the deadline, Flemming was finishing his paperwork to complete his move to Burnley, and has now become Scott Parker's 12th and final signing this summer.

The Clarets will end their busy summer with the 26-year-old, who has been flirting with the prospect of leaving the Lions all summer.

Having lost out on landing Plymouth Argyle forward Morgan Whittaker, Dutch attacker Flemming was moved on to by the Burnley hierarchy, with his arrival confirmed 30 minutes after the transfer window shut - although it will only become a permanent move next summer.

Burnley will be relieved that someone is coming through the door rather than exiting it.

Chairman Alan Pace has cashed in on multiple first-team players this summer, but he had no choice but to strengthen in the final days - and he's done just that.

The first bid that appeared between Flemming and the Clarets came from Richard Cawley of the South London Press, who claimed that the Lions had rejected an opening bid from Parker's side, which included an option to buy.

This was the first of many offers that the Lions received, but they finally agreed on a deal that will see them paid over £7 million next summer, as per Cawley.

Millwall haven't been under pressure to get rid of Flemming this summer, but the South Bermondsey outfit have clearly been offered a deal too good to refuse - with the midfielder himself revealing he was keen to move as soon as he was made aware of the initial offers.

Zian Flemming exit could see Millwall suffer in attack

Flemming's impact on the south London side has been fairly large. His first season at the Lions turned out to produce a higher number of goal contributions with 18, but he still raked up some impressive numbers in the 2023/24 season (12 league goals and assists) in a largely uncreative side.

The Dutchman has been injured for the start of the 2024-25 season, so he hasn't featured for Harris' side, but there is no doubt if he stayed on, he would've been thrown straight into the team, such is his influence.

Harris now has to deal without Flemming though, and after Millwall's start to the season, it could turn into a long campaign for them.
