Khadija ‘Bunny’ Shaw has made the move to Manchester City from France and she has spoken to the English media for the first time.

The Jamaican makes the transfer to the blue half of Manchester from Bordeaux, who finished third in the French league last season.

The striker’s 22 goals in 20 appearances last season played a pivotal part in Bordeaux making it into the Champions League. Her efforts were enough to see her finish the campaign as the league’s top scorer.

Shaw sat down to speak to the media and share her thoughts on her move to England’ss top flight. When asked about her feelings on the move, Shaw seemed positive.

The forward, who will wear the No.21 shirt, felt the move was a natural progression in her career. She also shared her love of her new club.

“I’ve been watching Manchester City from when I was very small and I’ve also watched the females while I was playing in France and I liked how Manchester City played.”

Shaw seemed less enthusiastic about the prospect of facing Manchester’s typically wet weather, though.

“I’ve heard about the Manchester weather, compared to Jamaica,” she laughed.

The 24-year-old is evidently looking forward to a new challenge, admitting she is “excited about the culture and the style of play because every team and every country is different and unique in their own way.”

Shaw also expressed her pride at representing Jamaica in one of the top leagues in the world. She spoke on how she wanted to be a motivation for young children in the Caribbean who previously didn’t see a way to reach the levels she has reached.

With her talent in front of goal and her enthusiasm for her new club, Shaw may prove to be the edge City have been searching for to claim the Women’s Super League title once again.
