There were five fixtures across the Bundesliga on Saturday afternoon.
This is what went down.
Scorers: Musiala 17′, Choupo-Moting 38′
Bayern Munich closed the gap on Bundesliga leaders Union Berlin to a point thanks to a routine win on the road against Hoffenheim.
Jamal Musiala gave Bayern the lead after being afforded the freedom of the back post following a corner and took his tally for the season to nine goals – more than any other teenager in Europe’s top five leagues.
Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting then made the most of his continued opportunities by doubling Bayern’s lead seven minutes before the break when he steered a Serge Gnabry cross from the right in at the near post to boost his record in the last three games to four goals and two assists.
No further goals followed in the second half as Bayern cut the gap at the top to a point ahead of Union facing Bochum on Sunday.
Scorers: Bellingham 2′, 53′, Süle 13′, Reyna 44′, Moukoko 72′
Jude Bellingham stated his case in some style that he should not have been overlooked for the Golden Boy award by driving Dortmund to a 5-0 win over manager-less Stuttgart.
After losing out to Gavi in Friday’s announcement (to the surprise of many) Bellingham wasted no time in showing why so many think so highly of him as he took just 89 seconds to steer home the opener after some intricate Dortmund football in the final third.
It didn’t take long for number two as Niklas Süle finished expertly by diverting a perfectly delivered free-kick into the far corner of the net before Gio Reyna made it three moments before half-time, curling into the far corner after more good build-up play from BVB.
Shortly after half-time, Bellingham was at it again with a sublime finish as he veered away from a challenge on the edge of the area and then effortlessly found the far corner through a crowd of bodies with a fantastic finish to become the third youngest player to net a Bundesliga brace for Dortmund after Jadon Sancho and Daniel Simmes.
In the closing stages, another star youngster put the seal on things when Youssoufa Moukoko made it five as more exciting pass and move football culminated in him tapping in at the back post from a Raphaël Gurreiro delivery.
Dortmund go fourth with the win, while struggling Stuttgart remain just above the drop zone.
