Manu’s Game of the Week: Bayern Munich vs Schalke

My match of the week is Bayern Munich vs Schalke. This is such an important fixture for both ends of the table. Bayern have to win this game to keep Dortmund abreast, and Schalke need points to survive in a very tight Bundesliga relegation battle. In other words, everything is on the line here. But there is also history here, these two clubs really don’t like each other, and while Schalke would hate seeing Dortmund win the title, their motivation to beat their hated rivals Bayern, while also staying in the league might just be enough to make this game interesting.

Stefan’s Game of the Week: Union Berlin vs Freiburg

While most Bundesliga fans will struggle to take their eyes off the title race and how tight things are at the bottom of the league table, this weekend’s clash between Union Berlin and Freiburg should provide as much drama as anything else on the fixture list. Both teams are level on points as they chase that all-important fourth place and I reckon whoever wins this match will probably have done enough to claim it for the season. It’s a must-win for both teams.
