German sports magazine kicker have revealed the results to their biannual poll of Bundesliga players and one man clearly stands above the rest.
The Bayern Munich striker was voted the best player in the Bundesliga by 39.7% of his contemporaries, with Erling Haaland (17.9%) and Christopher Nkunku (10.3%) rounding off the top three.
And that wasn’t all for the Pole, with 43.2% of those asked naming him the best player in the world, ahead of Mohamed Salah (20.5%) and Lionel Messi (11.5%).
Only 9.2% of players voted the Bundesliga as the best league in the world but 33.8% have tipped Bayern Munich to win the Champions League this season.
Still, they believe two German coaches outside of Germany are the world’s best two orchestrators on the sideline. Jürgen Klopp was voted the world’s best manager by 34.6%, while 24.8% plumped for Thomas Tuchel and 19.2% think it is Pep Guardiola.
Julian Nagelsmann (5.2%) was voted in fourth in the world but only voted as the third best coach in the Bundesliga, behind Christian Streich and Steffen Baumgart.
