Bild (h/t Liverpool Echo) reports that the Champions League holders are interested in 20-year-old Kai Havertz.
The German attacker was excellent for Leverkusen last season, scoring 17 goals and providing 3 assists in the Bundesliga.
Havertz has formed a great understanding with youngsters Leon Bailey and Julian Brandt at Leverkusen, and is one of the brightest talents in Germany.
The report claims that Bayern Munich are also keeping tabs on the 20-year-old, and Leverkusen want €100m for the German sensation. Havertz is best used as a central attacking midfielder, though the youngster is capable of playing out wide too.
The 20-year-old has already played for the German national side, and the report claims that Leverkusen are not looking to sell their prized possession.
Liverpool haven’t made big moves this summer, however, we have signed Sepp van den Berg from PEC Zwolle.
The German youngster would be great for the Reds but Liverpool have several quality midfielders in their side.
Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain is almost like a new signing after missing most of last season recuperating from a serious knee injury.
Adam Lallana also had a stop-start season last time around, and he can do the job of an attacking midfielder too.
Havertz would not come on the cheap and it will be interesting to see if he is on the move from Leverkusen in the summer.
