The Bundesliga fixtures for the 2020/21 campaign were announced earlier today with reigning champions Bayern Munich starting off against Schalke 04 at the Allianz Arena.

Meanwhile, Borussia Dortmund could have their title credentials tested from the first matchday itself with a tricky home encounter against Borussia Monchengladbach.

Arminia Bielefeld, who are back in the Bundesliga after more than a decade, take on Eintracht Frankfurt on the road. SC Freiburg will make the visit to VfB Stuttgart, who have returned to the top-flight after the solitary season away.

Here is a look at some of the key fixtures.

Title race:

Bayern’s first clash against Dortmund will come on matchday seven which runs from November 6-8. Exactly a month later, they will entertain RB Leipzig at home.

Leipzig and Dortmund don’t face each other until January. Their first meeting will happen on matchday 15. Elsewhere, Dortmund make the visit to Bayern in early March.

Hansi Flick’s side face Leipzig on the road in the first week of April. Dortmund and Leipzig took on each other in the penultimate game of the previous season.

This time around, Dortmund are scheduled to host Julian Nagelsmann’s side in the final matchday 38 and that could prove a crucial title decider, suppose both teams are able to challenge Bayern, who have won eight Bundesliga titles on the bounce.
