Bukayo Saka has played a starring role for England so far this World Cup.

Across the Three Lions’ four games to date in Qatar, the Arsenal man has scored three times for England and is the nation’s joint top scorer alongside Marcus Rashford.

Saka also played an important role in England’s run to the European Championship final last summer.

Despite not being a regular starter right from the very start of the tournament, he forced his way into Gareth Southgate’s plans with some electric performances off the bench.

Of course, it’s no secret that he missed a crucial penalty in the shootout vs Italy which ultimately cost England.

And as a result, was subjected to vile abuse from small pockets of the so-called ‘England support’ who, in reality, were just bullies.

For many young stars, taking such an emotional hammering would scar their career and leave them a diminished player.

But when it comes to Saka, he’s shown strength of character beyond his years and is flying higher than ever both at club level and with the national team.

Although it isn’t just on the pitch that Saka is the full package. It turns out that he’s just as well-rounded off the pitch, too.

Saka’s outstanding GCSE results

Saka only recently completed his GCSE exams, sitting them in the summer of 2018, just six months before making his Arsenal debut as a 17-year-old.

He went to Greenford High School in Ealing, West London and proved one of the standout students of his year group.

So, how did Saka fare in his GCSE’s? Well, despite juggling his studying with training to become a professional footballer, brilliantly well.

Saka achieved four A*s and three As in his exams which makes him an extremely high potential individual in the academic world.

Most likely, he could have gone on to ace his A-levels before going to a top-level university.

Instead, though, six months later he made his debut for Arsenal in the Europa League vs Vorskla Poltava.

And to be fair to the lad, we know which option we would be taking had we had the choice between playing elite professional football and continuing to study…
