The Daily Mail are reporting that Bukayo Saka is ‘interested’ in a move to Liverpool but that seems like total nonsense.

Bukayo Saka signed a new Arsenal deal last summer tying him to the club until 2024 and there are now reports that the club are readying a new deal.

So, it is perhaps no surprise to see Saka being linked with a move to Liverpool as his agent tries to strike a new deal, especially when we consider how long it took to get him to sign his new deal last year.

Arsenal fans, however, should not be worried.

As you can hear in the video below, which was filmed after his deal last summer was announced, Saka is totally in love with Arsenal, the club he has been at since he was eight.

In addition to praising the club extensively, he also adds that ‘the future looks bright, and that’s why I’m happy to be here.’

A few days after his new contract was announced, Saka and in the interview after the game, he was asked about staying at Arsenal.

“Words can’t describe how great it has been for me and for my family,” Saka said.

“I’m delighted to stay with the club that I love and get my first Premier League goal and for us to get the win as well, so I’m over the moon right now.

“There’s still a lot of things that I need to improve on, especially in this game. I need to learn and keep improving my game and keep developing.

“Like I always say, it’s just a dream to play for Arsenal. I’m only 18 and I came from the academy and I’m just happy that the boss is putting me out on the pitch.

“He’s shown so much faith in me so wherever he picks me, I just have to give my all.”

Let’s not also forget, the club also handed him the number 7 shirt last summer, too, which hints strongly at a long-term relationship ahead.

Sky Sports asked Saka whether that added pressure on him to perform to the high standards set by the likes of Robert Pires in the past.

“If a club is going to give you the number seven at such a young age, it shows how much they believe in you,” Saka said.

“That gives me a lot of confidence. I wouldn’t say it brings pressure on me.

“The only pressure, for me, that I feel is myself. That pressure that I put on myself to make a difference in games and stuff like that. I don’t think the number is going to really add a lot of pressure.

“It’s so exciting, you know. It’s just the stuff that you dream of. The number seven, the legends before that have worn it.

“It’s such an honour to be given that by Arsenal.”
