The one sour note of Arsenal’s 3-1 win over Manchester United at the Emirates in the Premier League on Saturday was watching Bukayo Saka leave the pitch after 74 minutes as he complained of a thigh problem.
The winger, who had once again endured a number of kickings during the game with little protection from another ref, had went into the game with a bit of a problem and it looked as if he had picked up a thigh strain.
After the game, Mikel Arteta said, “We have four or five players with difficulties at the start of the match.
“[Saka] was one of them, Ben [White] was another one, and we had Granit (Xhaka) with an issue with his eye as well.
“Eddie [Nketiah] hasn’t played any minutes, and three days later, he needs to play.”
At his press conference, he then said, “Bukayo was struggling to even start the match but he wanted to start. He had a big knock the other night.
“Let’s see how he is.”
Thankfully, it doesn’t seem as if Saka’s injury is too serious, more a knock than a strain that could rule him out for weeks. Should that change, we will update.
