Aston Villa travel to Selhurst Park to face Crystal Palace this Saturday evening as they look to grab another win this weekend. The Villans come into the match being confident after defeating Everton 2-1. The Eagles did well to hold back Liverpool to a hard-fought 1-1 draw and will look to clinch all three points in this home encounter.

Steven Gerrard would come back to the 4-3-3 formation making necessary changes in the Starting XI as Emiliano Buendia gets the nod over Phillipe Countinho.

Defence

Emiliano Martinez would operate in between the sticks looking to acquire a clean sheet conceding a goal in the win against the Toffees. Tyrone Mings and Calum Chambers will form the centre-half partnership in the heart of Villans’ backline as Diego Carlos suffers a long-term injury to his Achilles.

Aston Villa

Matty Cash and Lucas Digne retain their place in the left-back and right-back positions respectively, as they look to stretch the opposition backline in the final third. Ashley Young would remain on the bench looking to provide cover in the full-back position if required.

Midfield

Boubacar Kamara would feature in the holding position playing a more defensive role and shielding the backline. Jacob Ramsey and John McGinn would play in the left and right midfield positions, looking to transition the attack and distribute possession effectively.

Douglas Luiz would remain on the bench and could be called on in the second half to make an impact.

Attack

Danny Ings will lead the line and carry the burden of finding the back of the net if they hope to grab all three points against the Eagles. Emiliano Buendia would get the nod over Phillipe Coutinho in the left wing position while Ollie Watkins looks to provide support from the opposite flank. The men up front are expected to step up their game in order to build on their 2-1 success against the Merseyside club in the previous fixture.

Leon Bailey will look to impact the game in the latter half should the West Midlands outfit require a goal.
