Barcelona president Joan Laporta has confirmed in an interview with TV3 (via Mundo Deportivo) that the club is on track to earn around €950 million this season.
He also revealed that the budget for the 2025/26 campaign is expected to exceed the €1 billion mark, highlighting the club’s financial recovery and growing confidence in complying with La Liga’s salary regulations.
While speaking about the club’s economic outlook, Laporta stated: “LaLiga sets the salary cap at the end of the season.
“We will close this year with around €950 million in revenue, and next season the budget will exceed €1 billion. With these figures, we are confident of achieving a 1:1 financial ratio.”
That 1:1 reference points to a significant improvement in Barcelona’s financial fair play situation, meaning the club will be allowed to spend the same amount it saves, something sporting director Deco can finally benefit from after working with stricter rules in recent years.

Laporta also touched on transfer matters. When asked about long-time targets like Erling Haaland and Nico Williams, the president took a realistic approach.
On Haaland, he said: “Nothing in life is impossible, but right now, it’s not something we’re thinking about. I don’t see it as necessary, and he’s just renewed with Manchester City.”
As for Athletic Club winger Nico Williams, Laporta hinted that the club is exploring other options. “We considered him by keeping Dani Olmo in mind. But right now, I think our focus is on different players.”
Barcelona’s positive financial figures are a strong sign that the club is turning a corner. With more financial breathing room, fans can expect smarter investments and greater squad stability in the months ahead.
While superstar signings may still be off the table, the groundwork for a stable and competitive future is clearly being laid.
