FC Barcelona tend to never shy away from trusting their youngsters with big responsibilities. Despite their young age, many of the club’s most promising gems often end up delivering when it matters most. This rather brave philosophy is exactly the kind of thing that makes Barcelona a special place.

The likes of Lamine Yamal, Pau Cubarsi, Alejandro Balde, and others have followed this path in the past and it has led to great things for them. However, they were far from the first group of talented youngsters to accomplish that kind of feat at Barcelona, and they certainly will not be the last.

Even right now, many of the emerging prospects from the Barcelona youth categories are showcasing a lot of promise and potential. That is why AS has now taken the liberty to highlight some of the most impressive youngsters who are gradually making a name for themselves.

Shane Kluivert (17 years old):

The son of football icon Patrick Kluivert, the young player shines as a winger and is currently representing the club’s Juvenil B team as well as the Under-18 team of the Netherlands.

Baba Kourouma (15 years old):

Baba Kourouma is the younger brother of Ilaix Moriba, a player that has a rather uncomfortable history with Barcelona. His younger sibling, however, has so far been impressive at the club and is capable of playing as a central defender or midfielder. Even the Spanish Football Federation is keeping a close eye on him to ensure he plays for Spain if he can develop properly and showcase his potential.

Pedro Rodríguez (16 years old):

Known for his blend of skill, power, and finishing in front of goal, Pedro Rodríguez is another promising talent being developed at Barcelona. Regarded as one of the club’s most promising prospects, he has been at La Masia since he was 11 years old and continues to take things one step at a time.

Defensive standouts:

The likes of Andres Cuenca, who has already made his first team debut under Hansi Flick, as well as Nicolás Marcipar and Álvaro Cortés, are some of the more impressive standout defensive talents who could soon find more prominence as well.

Fernández cousins:

Both Guille (16 years old) and Toni Fernández (16 years old) are two of the most exceptional players currently in the Barcelona youth categories. Despite being cousins, the merits of their selection and presence at the club remain undeniable for each of them independently. Guille offers a profile that is much more of a box-to-box midfielder, whereas Toni excels at direct confrontations or one-on-one situations.

Others:

Beyond just these names, La Masia continues to produce top talents each year. The year of 2025 promises to be no different, and it will be quite exciting to see what new faces emerge from the Barcelona youth categories and end up taking the world by storm just like their predecessors.
