Bryan Ruiz asks to have his Santos contract terminated

Costa Rican striker Bryan Ruiz has asked for his contract at Santos to be terminated.

The former Fulham striker joined the Brazilian earlier this year but has failed to score in his 12 appearances and believes he will struggle for game time under new boss Jorge Sampaoli.

As such, Gazeta Press have confirmed that the 33-year-old has been in contact with the club’s hierarchy over tearing up his deal.

The goalscorer’s deal is due to expire in 2020.
