“Brutal” Tuchel has upset his attacking players with his approach | OneFootball

It’s one year since Thomas Tuchel was appointed at Chelsea – cue loads of long read articles featuring photos of him holding the Champions League.

The monster effort from The Athletic doesn’t just have retrospective praise about his 12 months at the club – in fact it has some new and rather negative information about how things are going now.

There is a source quoted who says that the way that Tuchel speaks to his attackers is causing problems. His manner is described as “brutal”, and clearly he’s not the type of coach to gently talk around problems.

The source claims this is having negative effects, and that the strikers and wingers are second guessing themselves and are afraid of giving the ball away at times.

That’s a rather convenient excuse, and while no manager can get all his man management spot on, from what we can see from the outside Tuchel is balancing his team’s needs nicely.
