Transfer expert Gianluca Di Marzio has reported that Al Hilal will pay between $10-$12m for the 29-year-old, which is far above his market value of $4m (per Transfermarkt).

That’s an amount Las Águilas simply can’t turn down, and Di Marzio claims that the deal will be “concluded shortly”.

Valdez will sign a four or five year contract, with his agent currently in Madrid to hammer out the details with Al Hilal’s representatives.

He has made over 200 appearances during his time at the Estadio Azteca, helping the club win the 2018 Apertura and 2019 Copa MX (Clausura).
