Bruno Guimaraes spoke with Thiago Silva, Gabriel Jesus & Telles before Newcastle switch

Newcastle's big money January signing Bruno Guimaraes admits that he spoke to the likes of Thiago Silva and Gabriel Jesus about the country and the Premier League.

The central midfielder is a significant acquisition for the relegation threatened club, as he was linked to some of the top sides in Europe in recent months.

The 24-year-old is delighted to be a Magpie, and hopes the club can go from strength to strength in the coming years.

Speaking in his first interview for the club, Guimaraes said: "I spoke to Gabriel Jesus, Thiago Silva, Alex Telles & they told me about the Premier League, about how difficult it is to play at Newcastle, how passionate the fans are & I didn't have to think twice about coming here."

Guimaraes will be hoping to engineer an improvement in results for Newcastleto ensure they remain in the Premier League beyond this season.
