Fernandes, 26, joined United back in January from Sporting Lisbon in a move which cost the Reds £49.5m as per TransferMarkt and has since gone onto transform his new club’s attacking threat.
The Portuguese midfielder has featured in a total of 23 matches in all competitions for United and has been directly involved in a stunning 20 goals.
United began their Premier League campaign a week behind schedule due to their participation in the latter stages of last season’s Europa League but their domestic season didn’t get off to the best of starts after a crushing 3-1 defeat against Crystal Palace left the side questioning where they went wrong.
Well, to answer that question, more or less, everywhere.
The Reds looked out of shape, well off the pace and majorly lacked team cohesion, not the ideal start to say the least.
However, despite the very limited positives for manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer to take from yesterday’s game, his Portuguese magnifico’s performance is definitely one of them.
Fernandes’ creative display against Crystal Palace, although proved fruitless, still managed to top England’s top-flight passing charts.
