Manchester United midfielder Bruno Fernandes reveals he shushed Manchester City manager Pep Guardiola due to a ālack of respectā.
Fernandes ā who joined United from Sporting in January ā clashed with Guardiola towards the end of their 2-0 derby victory on March 8.
But while there was meaning behind the gesture, the 25-year-old insists there is no bad blood between the pair.
āYou know, some people think: āPep won everything, who is Bruno to diss him?ā, but itās about respect,ā Fernandes told Sky Sports.
āI probably donāt do this again if I am on the pitch now. But, at that moment the words he told me made me mad, and on the pitch I am a little bit nervous, it is the kind of player I am.
āI have respect for Pep and what he won, and what he did for football because he changed some mentalities in football.
āAt that moment he didnāt respect me and so he didnāt deserve my respect at that moment on the pitch.
āBut for me it doesnāt matter. What goes on in the pitch, out of it, for me, itās past.ā
United were due to face Tottenham on Sunday, before all Premier League fixtures were cancelled until April due to coronavirus.
