Manchester United ace Bruno Fernandes wins the Sir Matt Busby Player of the Year award

As confirmed by the club’s official website, Manchester United star Bruno Fernandes has won the Sir Matt Busby Player of the Year award for the second time in two seasons.

The Portuguese sensation won the majority of the votes from supporters. It comes as no surprise given the numbers he has put up so far.

With 28 goals and 17 assists in 56 games across all competitions, Fernandes has been at the top of his game all campaign. He leads the club in both goals and assists this season.

It has been a record-breaking season from Fernandes so far. He has now overtaken Frank Lampard as the midfielder with most goals in a Premier League season.

Fernandes also wore the armband against Liverpool in Harry Maguire’s absence. Whether it be on or off the field, his influence on the club cannot be dismissed.

A consistent performer, Fernandes has won 12 man of the match awards this season. Edinson Cavani trails behind in second spot with five.

United have had a number of top performers this season. While both Luke Shaw and Edinson Cavani have impressed, Fernandes has been the overwhelming force behind our progress this season.

The 26-year-old received 63% of the votes, an overwhelming number indeed. Mason Greenwood and Marcus Rashford came in fourth and fifth respectively.

The poll results were much closer last season as Anthony Martial came a close second to Fernandes. The duo was separated by just 1.5%.

The Frenchman has since fallen away while Fernandes continues to go from strength to strength. One cannot help but admire his consistency.
