Manchester United produced a memorable evening at Old Trafford earlier this week as they overturned a two-goal deficit against a fearless Atalanta side in the Champions League.

Gian Piero Gasperini’s side took a shock lead in the first half and shortly doubled their advantage before going into the interval with a handsome cushion between themselves and the hapless United side.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s were toothless in attack in the first 45 minutes but there was, however, a strong reaction from the side when the two teams made their way onto the pitch for the second half.

Their early pressure was paid off early when Marcus Rashford scored to pull one back before Harry Maguire equalised. Cristiano Ronaldo scored the winner 10 minutes from time and now there are reports that Bruno Fernandes asked Solskjaer to make a tactical tweak at half-time.

That’s according to The Sun, who claim that the Portuguese midfielder asked his manager to play him deeper in order to affect the game more.

Furthermore, the publication claims that Solskjaer was trying to calm down his players during the 15-minute halt, with players said to be ‘feuding’.

Clearly, the inquests at half-time seem to have made a positive difference on proceedings in the second half. Fernandes was at his brilliant best, assisting two goals, and was later awarded the ‘Man of the Match’ award.
