Bruno Fernandes has been called ‘the funniest footballer in the world’ after he shouted at Alejandro Garnacho during Manchester United’s FA Cup win against Everton.
United are through to the fourth round of the cup after beating Everton 3-1 at Old Trafford.
Antony put Erik ten Hag’s side ahead after just four minutes, finishing from good work by Marcus Rashford.
However, Everton were level shortly afterwards after an absolute howler from David de Gea who allowed Conor Coady to force the ball home.
Coady may have been celebrating then but, in the second half, he put Man Utd back ahead after slicing the ball into his own net.
In the final minutes of injury time, the tie was finally wrapped up when the brilliant Rashford made it 3-1 from the penalty spot.
However, just minutes before Rashford’s third, Fernandes had a great opportunity to wrap up the win himself.
The ball fell kindly to him on the edge of the penalty area with Garnacho in a great opportunity.
Bruno went for glory.
However, his attempt with the outside of his foot was sliced horribly wide and didn’t trouble Jordan Pickford in the goal.
Garnacho threw his arms up in disgust but Bruno wasn’t having any of it.
Even though he probably should have passed, Fernandes wasn’t impressed an 18-year-old moaning at him and made sure he knew about it.
Despite progressing to the next round of the FA Cup and in fine form in the Premier League, Man Utd legend Roy Keane still isn’t convinced.
“They are on a good run and they are unbeaten recently but they haven’t really played anyone,” Keane said.
“But I’m still not convinced, I think the problems are still there at the back, I’m not convinced with the goalkeeper [David de Gea]. They are better, obviously, than last year – that wouldn’t have been hard.
“The [Cristiano] Ronaldo situation has been cleared up, which I am sure will help the situation, but, again, I think they have had some cushy games to experiment with.”
