On Wednesday afternoon, Belgian side Club Brugge announced the acquisition of Poland international Michał Skóraś from Ekstraklasa side Lech Poznań. The 23-year-old Polish international signed a four-year contract with the Blauw-Zwart.
While not officially confirmed, the fee that Brugge have been required to pay to secure the services of the winger is reported to be in the region of €7 million (32 million PLN). It has also been reported that the Kolejorz will receive a further 15 per cent of any future transfer.
Young winger Skóraś is just the latest product of the Lech Poznań academy to be sold for a huge profit. Only Jakub Moder (Brighton & Hove Albion – €11m) and Jakub Kamiński (VfL Wolfsburg – €10m) have been sold for more.
Skóraś’s stars for this season have continued to impress, despite Lech relinquishing their grip on the league title. In 48 games across all competitions, the winger has scored 15 goals and crested another 6.
“I had the opportunity to visit the club recently, the whole training base is very impressive and I decided that at this moment it would be the best choice for me. It will definitely be a place where I will have the opportunity to further develop my skills.” Michał Skóraś
Club Brugge ended the regular season in fourth place, placing them in the Championship group. They currently sit eight points behind leaders Genk, although are guaranteed at least a place in the UEFA Europa Conference League play-offs.
