Burnley have had a good start to the Championship season having not lost a game so far and they will be looking to continue their unbeaten streak tonight as they face Watford.

Although the table doesn’t mean much this early in the season, both the Clarets and their opponents sit with four points and a goal difference of one suggesting it could be a competitive game between the sides.

Furthermore, as two newly relegated sides, both teams are eager to push back up towards the top flight this season and therefore three points tonight will be a statement of intent towards doing so.

With that in mind, here we take a look at how Vincent Kompany’s side may line-up for tonight’s game.

Here, we see an unchanged side from the Burnley boss with no injuries in his side yet this season.

Arijanet Muric is in goal and having conceded just one goal so far this season, will be hoping to provide a solid display.

In front of him we have a back four of Ian Maatsen, Charlie Taylor, Taylor Harwood-Bellis and Connor Roberts who have formed a strong back-line so far.

Ben Mee

Yes No

The midfield four consists of Samuel Bastien, Jack Cork, Josh Cullen and Josh Brownhill. The midfield four have linked together well at the start of the season and with Brownhill scoring his side’s equaliser on Saturday, he will no doubt be feeling confident and looking for another goal.

The front two in this line-up is Dara Costelloe and Ashley Barnes.

Whilst both players are yet to get off the mark themselves this term, Barnes has provided the assists for both of Burnley’s goals so far this season and will therefore be looking for another positive contribution tonight.
