Bronze is looking to win the award for the second time, having already won it in 2018-19, when she became the first defender to claim the prize.

She returned to City this summer after a glittering three-year stay at Lyon that saw her win three consecutive Champions Leagues and Division 1 Feminine league titles, alongside two Coupe de France Féminine victories and one Trophée des Championnes.

The winner will be named during the 2020/21 UEFA Champions League draw ceremony in Nyon on Thursday 1 October.
