Let’s start with one we haven’t yet touched on — Brøndby winger Clement Bischoff.
The 19-year-old Dane is reportedly emerging as a target for Celtic, although Sunderland are also said to be interested. It’s worth noting that Brighton had a £7.2m deal fall through for him back in February, and now it’s believed he could be available for around £6.3m. It’s interesting the Brighton deal was all but done and dusted but the player backed out because he didn’t like the pathway to first team minutes the south coast club offered him. Cut of jib liked!
The source? This particular rumour seems to have originated in mainstream terms on Teamtalk, so — as is often the case with that site — it’s probably best consumed with the usual hefty pinch of salt. While some mainstream outlets have picked up on the story, it’s not thought that Celtic have gone much beyond initial scouting at this stage.
That’s not to say there’s no interest — just that it doesn’t appear to be an active pursuit right now.
And that’s a bit of a shame, because Bischoff ticks plenty of boxes. He’s a natural left winger — a position where we definitely need to strengthen — and he’s versatile, good with both feet, and has even filled in at left-back on occasion. Offensively minded, within budget, and attracting outside interest — on paper, he looks like a player worth considering seriously. But as things stand, this seems more like a rumour doing the rounds on WhatsApp and fan message boards than anything concrete from the club. It would be nice to see that one develop though.
Now on to a name we have covered: Adam Obert, the Cagliari centre-half and Slovak international. Celtic are reportedly interested, but apparently we’d need to raise our offer to get a deal done – quelle suprise!

Yesterday I poured a bit of cold water on this one, but Just An Ordinary Bhoy, writing for The Celtic Star, made a few valid points that are worth revisiting.

If both Stephen Welsh and Dane Murray were to go out on loan, that could create a vacancy for another centre-back.

Obert has also spent a decent amount of time playing at left-back for Cagliari, so there’s an element of positional flexibility here too — something we know the manager values. When you consider that Celtic are still looking for cover at left-back, there might be more mileage in this deal than initially thought. Yes, our offer may be a little short — if one has even been submitted — but given his age, profile, and potential, this could still be one to watch.
Can we just let him go?
The kid has played 29 minutes in two seasons for Celtic. That’s it. There’s a £350k loan bid from Rapid Vienna on the table, with potential to rise above £1 million for an outright purchase if he hits 20 games. If that loan-to-buy obligation offer is real, Celtic should bite their hands off – immediately.

Let’s be honest — Tilio has no future at Celtic. Even if, heaven forbid, we didn’t bring in any more wingers this window, he still wouldn’t play, because the manager, like so many of those Summer ’23 signings, doesn’t rate him. It’s as simple as that.
With Yang and James Forrest currently rotating and the potential of Ben Summers stepping up on the opposite flank to cover Daizen, until reinforcements arrive, there’s a better case for giving opportunities to a player with a possible future at the club, one we’ve reared, rather than one who just won’t play for Celtic.

It’s time to let Tilio move on and keep his dream of playing football in Europe alive — because it’s not happening here, and every minute we keep him around is a just time wasted – and we’ve wasted more than enough of that kid’s time already.
