Bristol Rovers defender James Connolly is heading for League Two with Crewe Alexandra, according to journalist Pete O’Rourke.
Gas defender Connolly is in the final year of his contract and has attracted attention this summer.
The Welshman spent the second half of last season on loan in League Two at Morecambe and made 13 appearances.
He did not face Crewe, but is now due to complete a summer switch to Gresty Road and will sign a two-year deal.
Connolly is able to operate as both a right-back or a centre-back and it remains to be seen where the Railwaymen will use him.
Before joining Morecambe, Connolly had accumulated eleven outings in League One for Bristol Rovers.
Connolly came through the youth set-up at Cardiff City and joined Bristol Rovers on a permanent basis after a successful loan spell at the Mem.
The defender, who was capped by Wales at Under-21 level, will be looking to hit the ground running with Crewe.
