12 senior players may have been released by Bristol City but it’s been a quiet start to the summer in terms of new signings.

The transfer window opened last week in what is Nigel Pearson’s first summer in charge of the Robins and he’s made it no secret that he’s hoping to start his squad rebuild over the next few months.

Former Robins winger Albert Adomah has been linked with a move back to Ashton Gate this summer but they’re not the only EFL club keen as Birmingham City, Derby County, and Luton Town have also been touted with an interest.

Speaking exclusively to Football League World, former Ipswich Town midfielder David Norris was full of praise for Adomah.

He said: “I’ve always liked him. He’s always been a handful. I’ve tried to kick him on many occasions! Good player, very good.”

Nagy, Massengo, and Williams highlighted as potential sales

The Bristol Post has highlighted Adam Nagy, Han-Noah Massengo, and Liam Williams as players that could be sold after Pearson revealed recently that he still needed to trim the wage bill.

Despite 12 players already departing this summer, the City boss hinted during a recent interview on Robins TV that it was an issue that needed addressing.

City do have a fair bit of depth in central midfield and are reportedly keen on signing Matty James, which has led the Bristol Post to highlight Nagy, Massengo, and Williams as players that could be sold.

Another of the key revelations from Pearson’s interview on Robins TV was in relation to Andi Weimann and Danny Simpson.

When City published their retained list it was revealed that pair are both in talks with the South West club over extending their stays at Ashton Gate.

However, in his interview with Robins TV, Pearson hinted they could both still leave and suggested that if terms aren’t agreed soon the 12 senior players departing would become 14.
