Bristol City have completed the signing of former London City Lionesses forward Jamie-Lee Napier on a two-year deal.

The Robins announced news of the transfer via a post on their official club website this afternoon.

Napier returns to the Barclays Women’s Super League after spending the last two years playing second tier football with London City Lionesses. The Scot made 43 league appearances for The Pride in which she scored seven goals. Napier is a versatile left-sided player and she will be a useful option for Bristol City head coach Lauren Smith.

After completing her move to Ashton Gate, Napier said “It feels great to be here. I’ve heard a lot of good things about the club and had some good conversations with Lauren [Smith] and some of the girls so I’m excited to get started.

“It’s always been a good test coming up against Bristol City. I like the way the team plays and the kind of characters in the squad so it was something I really wanted to be a part of and it was a no-brainer when the option to sign came up.

“I’m really close with Abi Harrison from our time at Hibs so we’ve got a great bond on and off the pitch, the same with Amy Rodgers from our last two seasons together at London City. It’s good to have some familiar faces.”

Napier becomes Bristol City’s fifth signing of the summer transfer window.
