Bristol City have opted to recall goalkeeper Liv Clark from her loan spell at Barclays Women’s Championship club Watford.

The Robins announced the news via a post on their official club website this afternoon.

Bristol City have reported that they have made the decision to recall Clark with first-choice goalkeeper Fran Bentley having sustained at injury. Bentley picked up a knock in last weekend’s 4-2 defeat to Leicester City at Ashton Gate, although she was able to continue.

Clark joined Barclays Women’s Championship club Watford on a season-long loan deal back in August. The player has helped The Golden Girls to take four points from their opening five league matches. Full details of Bentley’s injury have not been disclosed by Bristol City, however, it may be the case that Clark goes back out on loan again later in the season to get game time.

Bristol City head coach Lauren Smith has named Clark on the bench for this afternoon’s Barclays Women’s Super League fixture against Tottenham Hotspur at Brisbane Road. On-loan Arsenal goalkeeper Kaylan Marckese will initially deputise in-between the sticks while Bentley is out injured.

Clark is in her second season at Bristol City after joining the club on a free transfer in summer 2022.
