Bristol City were on the wrong end of a narrow 1-0 defeat against Preston North End last night on a disappointing evening at Deepdale.
It was a game that saw them improve in the second half but not enough to get anything from it and they head back to the south-west disappointed.
Before the game, meanwhile, an issue for Dean Holden to contend with had already emerged with veteran Chris Brunt ruled out for three months with a calf injury, as per Gregor MacGregor:
The Verdict
Brunt was signed to be an experienced voice amongst the Robins’ dressing room as they look to get themselves promoted this season but he is now set to miss a great portion of the season.
The former West Brom man has been used largely as a sub this year for the Robins and so, in that sense, might not be missed too greatly from Holden’s selection in the coming weeks and months.
However, it’s another midfield injury to add to the Robins’ list and the hope will be things start to get better sooner rather than later at this most crucial point of the season.
Up next for the men from Ashton Gate, a home game with Wycombe Wanderers.
