Defending champions looking for place in final eight
Liverpool continue the defence of their Carabao Cup crown away at Brighton this evening.
New head coach Arne Slot has enjoyed a fine start to his first season in charge of the Reds and will no doubt be keen to defend the trophy, the last lifted by Jurgen Klopp in his trophy-laden tenure.
Liverpool made light work of West Ham last time out in this competition, running out 5-1 winners at Anfield.
The Seagulls, meanwhile, overcame Wolves last month after beating Crawley in the second round.

Jack Hinshelwood could return for Brighton, along with Yankuba Minteh. Lewis Dunk should miss the game after injuring himself in the warm-up at the weekend, and joins Joao Pedro, Adam Webster and James Milner on the sidelines.
Conor Bradley could return for the Reds, though all of Federico Chiesa, Diogo Jota, Harvey Elliott and Alisson Becker are ruled out.

Liverpool will know they won’t have it all their own way on the south coast - and the bookies appear to agree - but Brighton can ship goals against any team and the absence of Lewis Dunk will be a real concern for the hosts.
Even with rotation, the Reds should see this one out.
